The Tony Gagliano Memorial Cruising Trophy was
established in honor of the late Tony Gagliano. Tony was an avid
cruiser, friend and long time Hudson Cove Yacht Club member. The contest
includes both a sailing vessel winner and a powerboat winner.
The basic rules are as follows:
Log the number of nautical miles cruised, along with
the
date, departing and arriving ports on the contest log sheet.
Click for Log
A cruising segment must be between two different
points. Day sails or motors ending back at same port do not count
towards your cruising total. (It’s just fun)
Sailors, sorry but additional miles tacked do not
count toward the total nautical miles. Direct line nautical miles only.
Contest Time frame – Memorial Day through September
30th.
Submissions are due October 1st. Look here in September for submission details:
It's that simple!
At the October general meeting we will announce the
winner as well as the total miles cruised by all of the Hudson Cove
Yacht Club fleet. Even if you don’t get to cruise a lot this season,
please submit your adventures to add to the total club mileage.
Disclaimer-Winners will be determined
at the sole discretion of the Cruising Fleet Captain. (We understand he
is partial to rum) Disputes, discrepancies, rule changes and/or
clarifications may or may not be taken into consideration. Cheating will
be dealt with in the harshest of fashions. Punishment may include but is
not limited to public flogging, keel hulling and time outs.
